Poonam Dhillon is a charming beautiful actress of 80’s. She won the Miss India Pageant in 1977 and this was her ticket to bollywood. Famous film director Yash Chopra noticed her and cast her in his movie Trishul. Trishul was a multi starrer movie having Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini and Sachin in its star cast. Poonam Dhillon was a young newcomer and played the  Sachin’s love interest in the movie. The song Gapuchi Gam Gam featuring Poonam Dhillon and Sachin became very popular.

Yash Chopra then offered Poonam Dhillon leading role in the movie Noorie in which she was cast against actor Farooq Shaikh.  Poonam Dhillon worked in plethora of movies in her film career. Her equation bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna proved quite lucky as she delivered maximum number of hit movies with him. She played leading role in the movie Samunder and was cast against Sunny Deol. Soni Mahiwal was another movie in which she was cast against Sunny Deol.

Poonam Dhillon participated as contestant in Big Boss Season 3. Vindu Dara Singh was the winner of this show and Poonam Dhillon ended up being the runner up.  She also acted in some tele serials and her stint in small screen was a success.  She was married to producer Ashok Thakeria and has two children from her marriage. Poonam Dhillon is active member of Bhartiya Janta Party and business woman.
